Dunkeld Country Estate
Dunkeld Country Estate is a luxury trout-and-game lodge. Situated in the highly sought after town of Dullstroom, the area boasts the spectacular Panorama Route offering magnificent views of remarkable landscapes featuring many breathtaking highlights, including Blyde River Canyon, Echo Caves and Pilgrims Rest.


The resort boasts many well-stocked dams filled with Brown, Rainbow and Golden Trout, offering fly-fishermen enthusiasts the enjoyment of quality angling time in pursuit of that perfect catch.The heritage of the estate has been preserved with the conversion of the old farmhouse into a restaurant, which was more than a hundred year old.

The Estate consists of a Luxury Lodge which offers 13 spacious rooms as well as 4 private self contained family suites and 20 comfortable self-contained chalets.

Dunkeld Country Estate has 18 still water dams which are stocked regularly with various trout, ranging in size, offering fly-fishermen enthusiasts the enjoyment of quality angling time in pursuit of that perfect catch. The largest fish caught to date is a rainbow trout of 3.2kg!

Trout Fishing

Extra charges include: A conservation fee of R150 per vehicle or R300 per mini bus , this includes a fishing permit and bag limit, valid for the duration of your stay.

Rod and reel hire are available for hire.

Float Tubing is permitted

Bag limits are subject to sleeping capacity of accommodation – anything over bag limit is charged at a per kg rate. Cleaning and gutting can also be done at an extra cost.

Day Anglers are permitted at a R150 per vehicle conservation fee and must pay for kept fish

Flies may be purchased and fly fishing tuition is available on site by a resident guide.

All still waters can be accessed by vehicle and are within walking distance to all accommodation
